Could need some help ID this arabic gold coin
« on: January 08, 2009, 02:06:03 pm »
Greetings

Could someone please help me identifying this coin? I'v posted it on other forums without any luck.

This is what I know about it (not much I'm afraid)

- Looks like gold
- My father told me that it is from when Genghis Kahn invaded Persia. Supposedly the writing on it is mongolian on one side and arabic on the other. I can't speak neither so?
- Their pictured upside down(I know, newb)

Both are in Arabic and both images are upside down.  They look to be Ghazvanid or another dynasty near their time period.  Sorry but I can't read them either and would have to spend a lot of time with reference books to find a match.
