It has been a little while since I spent any real time in the galleries, but I updated mine today and was a bit surprised to find a feature had changed. It used to be, that when you uploaded large photos, visitors first went to a photo sized to fit the screen, then if desired, they could click the photo and get the full size image. I rather liked this feature, and sized all my images on the large side, not realizing that this had changed.   Is there any chance it will be returning? If not I guess I will have to re-size and re-load, as in my opinion the pics are to large for general viewing....

The feature is still there, maybe a setting has changed.   The maximum dimension setting is 800 pix.  What was it before?   Perhaps 600 or 500 would be better?  800 pix actually will look good on most new monitors with the settings adjusted for better resolution.

Maybe there is a setting on my end I have not found yet? I have my monitor set at 1280 X 800 and the pics do not fit either way.  Huh

I have the same as you Jerome. If I load an image that is 1088x503 (picking a real example) then that is exactly how it is displayed in the gallery and doesn't fit on the screen like the images used to.

Same here.

My most recent pics are sized to 800 x 400, but the former ones were bigger. Strangely enough, some of them fit in the former configuration, where you can click on them to view full size, and others are directly full sized so you can't see it in one time : very puzzling !!

Just a guess, but I think it has to do with whether you have made the image ±800 X 400 pixels by means of reducing the dpi or by reducing the pixels as such.  Pat L.

The program has a utility to resize all older photos to the setting.  Clicking it is a little scary.  I hope the results are as desired.

That's great Joe, it works perfectly for my gallery now. Thanks a lot

Odd.... It still does not seem to work for mine.... Unless it is just a result of my internet being messed up at the moment??

I picked a coin from Potator IIs gallery originally 1520x760 and it is diaplyed as an 800x400 in the gallery:-

http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-34332

This is what used to happen.

It appears that all his recent images have already been resized to 800x anyway in software.

When I choose a coin from my own album or coins from Jeromes album then they are not resized (not for me anyway).

The program only does 200 coins at a time.  I ran it a couple times and stopped to if the results were OK.

Ouch, 200 at a time for 24000 images.... That sounds like a tedius job ....

But at least that explains why some now work and others do not.

Thanks Joe!

Just a follow up FYI on this. Even the new images uploaded last night are not resizing, so it seems something in the system is not functioning as it should?

The resizing old photos isn't working either.  I have asked Sorin to fix this problem.

I set the gallery to create intermediate pictures of 400 pixels height.
They look like this: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=60&pos=0
Let me know if you need them larger than that. I will run the utility to resize images that are already uploaded when the server will be less busy, till then you will still see those large photos in the other galleries.

I think it's a good size, any more and those with 1024x768 pixels will probably have to scroll.
