Valentinian II(?), SALVS REIPVBLICAE
« on: December 03, 2008, 12:01:34 pm »
Hi all, I have this little Valentinianus:

14.5mm, 1.75g

DN VALENTIN [], diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right
SALVS [] BLIC[], Victory dragging captive to left, cross in left field, AQ? in ex.
I could not find this combination in Helvetica's spreadsheet.

Andreas, I would say you are right with Valentinianus II Wildwinds list a couple of the SALVS REIPVBLICAE, with the Chi Rho in the left field, I could not verify the AQ though.

Good Luck
Pete

Modified see below for RIC 9 area (There was also a 58 D)

Hi Andreas!

For me the ex. looks like AQP. You can see the left vertical line of the P. The other parts are destroyed.

Best regards
