Hi Kevin

Copper pul of Tver, probably 16th century.

Cant say more than that as I dont have access to my references at the moment.

Best wishes

Hi Kevin

I'm sorry to say my limited resources just confirm what I originally posted, an anonymous pul of Tver, late 15th century. Spassky (p.95, fig.1) illustrates a very similar piece but with the lion's head looking backwards.

Best wishes

Alan

Ave!

Thanks Alan! That's certainly more info than I began with. Very helpful!

Can you translate the writing for me?

Best,

kevin

Hi Kevin

The legend is
:Greek_Pi: V :Greek_Lambda: :Greek_Omicron:/ T :Greek_Phi: bP/ CKO, with a crossbar on the lower case 'b', but the first line is extremely faint and the coin is off-centre to the right.

The meaning is simply 'pul of Tver'

Best wishes

Alan
