Some study history. Some make it.

Demand, not much. If any one wanted an imitation of a tribute penny (as you may have read, this coin is associated with Christ's answering the Pharises.), perhaps as a space filler (genuine ones in good shape will set you back a few hundred dollars.) there are much better ones out there!
But of course, if you still want to sell, note it as being an imitation.

Well, is it an imitation (ancient fake) or a modern forgery?

I'm not sure if it adds anything to the discussion but here's my (presumably ancient) forgery.

An interesting ancient forgery, i think.

Weight, diameter, (plated?) bronze alloy?

the diameter is 11/16", I don't have anything to measure mm. have no idea what the alloy is. pretty light metal. picture depicts pretty closely the color.
thanks. i have on ebay now.
