AE4 be a coin of the usurper
Eugenius, or is this just wishful thinking?
The small size + crude strike looks rather similar to the
Eugenius AE4 coins on
Wildwinds, whilst the
portrait looks to me as if it might have a beard (though this could just be a combination of crude
style and wear); it looks quite different to the
VICTORIA AVGGG coins of other emperors like
Arcadius in my
collection.
The only
obverse legend visible is "DN" on the left and the "G" of
AVG on the right. The
mintmark on the
reverse appears to be T*P. Note that the photo makes the coin look rather silvery (due to reflection) - it actually has a fairly even greyish-green
patina.
