Tiberius and Livia
« on: February 18, 2008, 04:23:03 am »
I bought this coin two ago for very low price as unknown - see the condition on the left. Tried some cleaning and what a surprise! TI CAESAR AVGVSTVS PON MAX and IVLIA AVGVSTA CAE and pretty nice portrait appeared.
Tiberius and his mother Livia or maybe his wife and daughter of Augustus - Julia ?
Minted in Hispania? I can not find anything anywhere about this coin.  :(
Has anybody seen similar coin?

Emerita, Tiberius and Livia, RPC 40, presuming this is around 26mm?

you miss IMP at the end of the obv legend
C A E IVLIA AVGVSTA for the rev (C A E = Colonia Augusta Emerita)
