Bankers Marks on Mark Antony?
« on: February 11, 2008, 08:47:28 pm »
I've seen these "crescent moon" marks on many Republican Denarii and I just purchased a rather poor Mark Antony Legionary which has one, but it also has an "L" on the reverse.  They seem quite deliberate rather then just something that happens in a change pouch or in the ground.  Is there any meaning to them?

If there is any meaning behind these marks it is impossible to discern what at this distance in time.
