Anonymous quadrans
« on: October 28, 2007, 08:50:16 pm »
Is there any significance in the anonymous quadrans series as to the placement of SC on the reverse?  For non-anonymous quadrans/semis, during the flavian period the preference was to put SC in the field.  Later periods, like Hadrian and AP, the preference was usually SC in exergue.  Is this just a coincidence?  If this is actually fairly generalized, can this be used to roughly assign some chronology to the anonymous series where both placements of SC occur?
