RIC 629 Bust Type G, 7th emission of Siscia, A.D. 280. I would think it highly likely that it is a T between the legs rather than a V as I am only aware of Officina 3 (Represented by the T) producing this reverse for this emission. I don't have any of this type for this emission though they do turn up.

Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the reply. Is this a common coin? I added scans of the letter between the legs of the horse. In hand you can see two lines next to eachother and they are of the same size.

Certainly looks like a V though all the officina were still operating. It isn't common with the officina letter in field, though placing it in the legs is the norm for this issue and this type. Whether there would be a premium for it is open to debate as it does suffer from some flatness.

Martin
