I have always loved ancient aqueducts; besides being marvelous works of engineering, they are often so graceful.  The "overview" of the project about which this site is concerned states in part, ". . . [a] study of the changing pattern of water supply and demand provides a significant new resource for a fuller understanding of the life and wealth of the medieval city."  Their website is interesting, easy to navigate and quite informative.
