Hi

Can a specialist say to me if this Brutus's denarius is authentic or modern fake?

Thank you in advance

I can't tell if your coin is authentic or a forgery as your picture is blurry (at least to me).  It took a while to find the coin you have in the photo.

How much is the asking price for it?  In Fine to Very Fine condition it should be around $1000

I would be extremely leery of the coin.  In an on going auction, the coin from my photo is $821
(current bid).

I suck at determining forgeries.  After I posted my previous email, I finally found it in Sear Vol I, who lists it at $264 for F.  I still think this is low (Vol I was published in 2000).

Its low asking price, leads me to question it.  But like I said, I stink at determining forgeries

I can't see anything wrong with it.. looks good to me. Just a little worn.

I don't think it is possible to judge from a picture whether this coin is genuine or a good cast. If genuine, the value is 200-300 $, I'd say. These coins are popular but pretty common.
