Help ID Constantinus Follis
« on: April 23, 2007, 02:32:43 pm »

I do not manage to find the identification exact of this follis of
Constantinus.
I can read:
Obv: FL VAL CONSTANTINVS NOB CAES
Rev: CONSERVATOR AFRICAESVAE / SE F in field / A in exergue

Thanks

Your coin is RIC VI Carthage 58. It is dated to early 307 and is rated as scarce. It is a delta in the exergue per RIC, A was used for Maximian. Your reverse is Africa standing facing, head left, in long drapery with elephant-skin head-dress, right holding standard, left tusk; at feet to left, lion with captured bull.
