hi,

I have just discovered a beautyful coin among a lot of uncleaned:

It looks on my hand far better than on the picture. on the reverse I dont know whether this is a person or just a tower. My first guess was phoenician...but which one exactly?

Size: around 19mm

Any opinions?

thanks a lot

Every beauty looks in our hand far better than on a picture !
:-)

But seriously speaking now: Please tell us some letters you can identify and post a better photo of the reverse.

Regards,
A.

Maybe this one (?):

AE 22 of Laodikea, Syria.
References: Sear GC 5879 , or BMC 14 var.; RPC 4393
Obv. Turreted head of Tyche right.
Rev. Tyche standing left, holding in right hand, rudder, in left,
     cornucopiae.
But i think the letters are not greek, maybe Phoenician or Aramaic.

Will continue tomorrow, - good night.

Those are Greek letters, just badly corroded.
