Vespasian confirmation please
« on: February 01, 2007, 04:10:59 pm »
Hi All,

Another uncleaned coin that I would like to confirm the attribution with you if I may.

I think this is a Vespasion and RIC 583, but some of the other Vespasions appear close, RIC 545 for example is very close, and 443, 475 and 567 could pass themselves off as this.

Is there anything that would give it away, and which Mint would this likely have been from?

regards

Mark

RIC 583 is described as Vespasian. AE As. IMP CAESAR VESP AVG COS VII. Laureate head right. R. S C. Spes advancing left, holding flower and raising fold of her dress.

Sounds correct?
