usually my place is the Byzantine coins group, but I have a couple of rather strange ( to me ! ) Islamic coins and
I would very much appreciate your help.

No. 08 weighs 3,00 g. and is 22 mm in diameter
Nr. 09 2,49 g. and 23 mm

No.8 is a dirhem of the Seljuk of Rum sultan Ala al-Din Kay Kobad I ibn Kay Khusru (616-634 H/ 1220-1237 AD), struck in Siwas. I can't make out the actual date, but it must be between 1226 and 1234 because the Caliph al Mustansir (1226-1242) is named on the obverse.

No.9 is a Mamluk dirhem

No.10 No idea at the moment

No.15 is an anonymous Spanish copy of a Muwahhid square dirhem.

Unfortunately my son wants to use the computer now, so I will have to firm up the other identifications later

You also help people on the Byzantine Forum.

On the first Seljuk of Rum coin I read "   Ghiyas ad-Din Kay-khusrow bin Kayqubad"
which makes it a dirhem of Kay-Khusrow II 634-644 AH.
The date on the coin is 635 .
The next Mamluk dirhem is al-Zahir Rukn al-Din Baybars I
658-676AH , no mint or date. ref: ANS/Balog #44

Oops! at least I got the Caliph and mint right for the Seljuk piece. That will teach me to hurry the identification whilst being pestered by the son and heir.

However, I think the Mamluk coin is Balog 42 (with marginal inscription right, left and top on the obverse and all round on the reverse) rather than 44 (which has no marginal inscription on the obverse or reverse, and has an extra 'fleur de lys' ornament on the obverse.

Do you have any idea about No.10 Bakkar?: I think the right hand image should be rotated 90 degrees right and is the obverse (sultan at top right?), but more than that I can't guess at the moment.

Yes Alan, the word to the right is "al-Sultan"
and the word in the top left side is "dharb", (mint)
but the coin needs more search.
The marginal legends on the Mamluk coin are
La-Ilaha Illa allah " on the reverse and "Bism allah al-rahman al-rahim"
on the obverse. I dont have Balog but I have ANS Mamluk collection book studied
by Balog

No.10 is a dirhem of Jani Beg, Khan of the Golden Horde (742-758 H/ 1341-1357 AD), struck at Gulistan, Mitchiner WI 1526.

Of your most recent post, 11, 12 and 14 are from the same pair of dies, whilst 13 is different, but I haven't yet worked them out.

You are certainly getting some nice Islamic coins

Dear Alan, dear Burak
thank you, when I bought the lot it was just an "appendix" to a Byzantine coins collection to me,
but I must admit I start to like them.
I will surely only keep a few for myself but anyhow I will keep my eyes open for the "other side"
( seen from the Byzantine view ).
Especially the early Umayyad AR dirhems are fantastic, I will share a few of them later but I will try to attribute
them myself before and maybe have you check my attributions.
