This is a 26.1mm, 6.41gr As of
Antoninus Pius. "PIVS" is visible on the
obverse and
his portrait is easily recognizable. The
reverse, however, has me stumped. I think it's "
IMPERATOR" based on what I think is "IMPER....", but the left standing female figure is one I can't identify. She has her right
arm raised with drapery (?) hanging from it, and her lowered left
arm appears to be resting on a
column or
altar. S-C is clearly visible. I have gone through my
ERIC and
Van Meter books, and searched both
Wildwinds and
Coin Archives, but have been unable to find a match for this coin.
Any
help in identifying this coin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
