In my books I have contradicting attributions for this coin; can anyone help me?

I make it RIC 673a (rated C).

Hi,

Reading RIC VI, am I misunderstanding when it says there is nothing in the field for RIC (VI) Trier 673a? I know the general heading on the previous page has the mm S/F//PTR but the field column suggests otherwise. Do the K  :Greek_Delta: etc occur between the standing figures as well as the S/F?

Regards

That's how I interpret it.

There is at least one example of the group on wildwinds, but it is strangely listed under Cyzicus, apparently deliberately, and I'm not quite sure why.

Cyzicus is the correct attribution for all of these coins that bear the mintmark K.

Cyzicus apparently copied the design from coins of Trier, including PTR and S - F

See P. Bastien, "An enigma of Roman numismatics", Mélanges...Tricou, 1972, 23-28.

RIC's mistake was pointed out to me by Barry Murphy in 1997.

Gentlemen,
If I interpret your discussion correctly, it is RIC 673 and 676 that are attributable to Trier  and the rest would be Cyzikus.
Strange mistake for RIC to attribute Greek letters and symbols to a Western mint...
Thank you all.
