Just in case:
I found this sestertius on a dealer web site, described as unpublished, as RIC 429 but portrait left.

COS ITER TR POT, Pax seated left holding branch and caduceus, is a very common denarius, BM 26-30, Paris 18, RIC 10, Cohen first ed. 36, omitted in Cohen 2nd ed., 17 spec. in Reka Devnia hoard
Aequitas standing with the same legend is also common.

Oh, I'm very sorry, I forgot to attach the picture.

Of course I wouldn't have bothered you with a denarius of this type, I was talking about an AE as.

Ah, yes, those rare Tarraco asses!

Apparently that is Pax seated holding wheat ears and scepter.  BM 749 pl. 31.4 acquired such a coin from Baldwin's in 1926.

That Gorny Aequitas coin I acquired for my own collection and have already reported to Carradice and Buttrey!

I e-mailed this one to Curtis a few years ago, but wanted to take the opportunity to post a picture of it here as well.  It is a Domitian anchor/dolphin denarius with "PONT" on the obverse.  There is also a picture of this coin on the Wildwinds site taken from the auction I purchased it in.

Here is another coins that I don't think is in RIC.  It is a bronze As or Dupondius.

Obv: CAESAR AVG F DOMITIAN COS II
Domitian draped and laureate right

Rev: FELICITAS PUBLICA
Felicita stg l. with cadeuces and cornucopia, S C in field.

BMC p. 157 *

Thanks.

That one is scarce, but not unpublished.

Paris 693 pl. LIX has a spec., which was misreported by Cohen 98 as showing DOMITIANVS in obv. legend, the same error then being taken over by RIC 695a.  BMC p. 157 note reports a spec. with the correct DOMITIAN from the Levis Sale of 1925.

Nothing too earth shattering about this one but I think the combination of Domitian's titles on this denarius are unlisted.
Domitian Denarius- 86 A.D.
Obverse: IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM PM TRP VI
Domitian laureate right.

Reverse: IMP XII COS XII [CENS P P P]
Minerva standing left with spear.

According to the seller, an adhesive label had been put on the reverse of the coin by the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts which resulted in the damage to the reverse.  I've tried to enhance the scan to make the titles as legible as possible.

Thanks.  Certainly a rare coin, not in RIC or BMC.

Paris 468 pl. CXIV, surprisingly, has a specimen.  The coin has an old inventory number so should have been known to Cohen, but it's worn, so perhaps he overlooked the radiate crown.

I noted another spec. in NAC K, 2000, 1704.

Vespasianus dupondius 540. RIC specifically states bust left - this is bust right.

Curtis, you should take a look a the Domitian dolphin denarius at
http://www.coinscatalog.com/coin_view.php?id_catalog_int=40422009

Like my Domitian dolphin it has the obverse inscription IMP CAES DOMITIAN AVG PONT, but the reverse inscription is different from mine--the reverse of that denarius is PP COS VII DES VIII, while the reverse on mine is TRP COS VII DES VIII PP.  I think that the denarius shown on the coinscatalog site and mine may share the same obverse die.  My dolphin denarius is shown earlier in this thread.

Hi Frans!

RIC 539; C. 151 has head l. or r. Felicitas stg. l., holding caduceus and cornucopiae. The letters on the r. side of the rev. look recut to me.

Best regards
