Congratulations indeed. I must admit that with my youngest being 15 months now you start to forget that they were ever that small!

Scotland varies from day to day. You can get gorgeous snow-ice, when everything's easy, then you get a thaw and it can vanish just like that. I once saw a 50-foot icicle come away from the rock (it was thawing hard and there was water running down the back of it) with a climber attached. He was OK, he just swung out of the way on a peg. Of cource, I was immediately below, traversing across to get to the safer slabs round the corner. We were moving together, I don't know how I managed to stay put, and I finished the climb (Tower Ridge on the Ben) with concussion. Then another time you get half an inch of verglas, nothing grips, and the easy routes become hard. You're dead right about the weather; I was once involved in rescuing a walker who was blown off her feet and several yards sideways on Bidean nam Bian in Glencoe (God alone knows what they were doing up there; I was hard put to it to keep my feet on the road); she went over the edge into a gully, and fortunately for her, kept a grip of her axe. She just about managed to stop, with several broken ribs, just short of the rocks 500 feet down.

The world has waited long enough for a pic of me in all my glory! Here I am, speaking at an academic conference (in Egypt) a few months ago. The audience response wasn't too good, well, there wasn't an audience, apart from the camerawoman. Still, "England expects that every man will do his duty" - and I did.

P.S. They had decided to start an hour later, and informed all the conference participants - except for the first speaker. My colleague and I couldn't resist staging a photo...
Anyway, an hour later they all turned up and I socked it to them!

Well, this is me having had a long day (first picture).

The second picture shows my beloved girlfriend Tamara (got this one: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=560&pos=0 and this one: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=561&pos=1 from her  :)) trying to open a bottle of champagne (It's an older picture though, at the age of 18).

She had passed some sunny weeks in France when I took this picture... at least it's a bit more up-to-date, at the age of almoust 20.

Hi,

Took the plunge and tried to take a pic of me this morning.  The confused look is me reaching for the camera wondering why it has not gone off.... and then it did ::)

The background is home, right in the heart of the "norn iron" countryside.  Belfast is about 30 miles behind the brown cow to the right  ;D

All the best

Nice!  That an M-16?  Did you torch that Vehicle? lol  Now..that must be FUN!

Its an AR-15, a Bushmaster 20" Hbar A2. Yeah, the car was donated by a local sheriff's dept where we gather to shoot, and it didn't make the day without going up in smoke.

I know where you can get a cheap Dodge Astrovan, no money down.  ;) Its a fixer-upper!

I don't have many pictures of myself, but this one re-surfaced recently. It's a bit old (1992) but I don't think I've changed that much. I look very sporty with all those names emblazoned across my T-shirt, but don't be fooled (the tummy's a giveaway). I'm sitting outside the Montjuic stadium in Barcelona where I was assisting NBC with their coverage of the Olympics. And it wasn't all sitting down drinking cold drinks either!

I'm 1 of the surviving giants who fought against Zeus ;D.
I'm 1.94m. Thats about 76 inches. (between 6 and 7 feet??)
The picture together is from Olympia.
The picture alone is taken in ancient Corinth, in front of the temple of Apollo

The quality of the pictures isn't so good :-\.
But it was taken with my first digital camera.
The last 2: me as Hercules and my wife as Xena, the warrior princess ;D

She has a great smile, Nico. And she buys you denari. You are indeed a lucky, lucky man.

I also noticed you with a beer in front of you, no doubt upholding national honor (Belgium is the source of the best beer in the world, isn't it?   ;))

Thanks guys, for your sweet comments.
I will pass it to my wife. ;D
Belgium has indeed the best beer in the world.
But sadly enough, in Greece they had only dutch beer :-\.
That like drinking the water you have washed your dishes in...
But it was warm then,...so I would have drunk everything. 8)
