The quiz of the day: Where am I?

New York city, Times Square subway station, possibly the IRT 2/3 Broadway express downtown track....

I'm going to guess 45th and Lexington. Platform is too clean for Times Square, and the aliens (Glowing-sneaker man) don't stand out so much aroung the 42nd St. area............    ;D

If you look at the sign behind Hermes' head it says union square.

I do not typically make use of public transportation (except when flying, of course, or unless I absolutely have to take the train), but the person I was travelling with was a lot more adventurous than I, so I made an exception.

Driving around Manhattan (in a rental car) for a few hrs was one of the highlights of the trip (driving there I truly felt in my element!), although we soon determined that it would not be very practical to keep the car for the duration of our stay in NY (we'd driven to NY from outside the state).

Here is a picture of me from about 5 years ago.  The hair is a little longer and grayer, and I have a few more wrinkles.

As a little background, I live on a tropical island in the Western Pacific.  The island I live on is called Tinian.  It is about 5 miles wide and 10 miles long.  It is part of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a little known part of the United States.

I have been coin collecting for about 25 or 30 years.  I started out with US coins and slowly moved to ancients in the last 10 or 15 years.  I speciallize in coins from the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

LOL...its just a perspective thing. I am sure there are Roman pillars that can dwarf a man that much. But the perspective works. The Pillar is in York and is outside Yorkminster. Ok.....here is me. You will admit I am handsome :D

Oh the jokes I could have....  alas my good friend I cannot wound you in such a manner.

Good Lord Pat, the four year old takes better pictures than half the adults I know, including some Wedding photographers I've worked with! Perfectly centered, no "red eye", your head isn't cut off.....

The Yorkshire (UK) branch of the Board on their Christmas "do" at the old Roman city of Eboracvm. The redeye is the camera - not the fault of the empty bottles!  ::)  ;D

From the left Adrianus, Lee Toone and Mauseus.

A very merry Christmas to each and every one of you. May your stockings be full of rattling silver, bronze and maybe even gold!  ;)

Hey, I choose the same place for my Honeymoon 12 years ago.  We toured the Yucatan Peninsula looking at about four or five different Mayan sites.  It was a nice two weeks.

To commemorate my fairly recent promotion to Praetorian, I thought I'd inflict two pictures on all of you.  The first was taken two years ago in the lovely Tuscan hill town of Cortona; Lake Trasimene is in the background.  And the other...

Here is a fairly recent pic of me.  This one didn't make it into the official file because it isn't so great, but I can't find an e-copy of the better one.
