Help with Greek silver fraction
« on: October 30, 2020, 11:04:17 am »
I got this small coin several months ago in a lot from a Forvm auction. It is 7.0 mm, 0.23 g. I think it is from Chersonesos like this coin: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/catalog/roman-and-greek-coins.asp?param=95323q00.jpg&vpar=18&zpg=108740&fld=https://www.forumancientcoins.com/Coins2/

I'd love some more expert opinions.

Thanks,
Tim

I would also say that it is this type from Chersonesos, but heavily corroded  :(.

Altamura

Thanks, Altamura! Yea, it is a bummer about the condition, but I'm delighted to ID it.

Cheers,
Tim
