Double Sestertius?
« on: September 28, 2020, 12:58:01 pm »
My First Post!

I have what appears to be a double sestertius.

These were produced by only three emperors..., most by Prostumus, some by Trajan Decius and a very small number by Aurelian.  My radiate sestertius coin doesn't appear to be listed in Seaby, ERIC II or the web.

Might anyone be able to identify this worn but unusal sestertius?  Thank you.

Diameter - 34mm
Weight- 15.5 grams

Thanks shanxi.  Your ID of my coin above seems right!  Thanks so much for the help, it really is appreciated!

My first post on FORVM quickly proved very useful.

Not a double sestertius. Just a large Roman provincial, of which there are very many.
