Crispus 2.50 g 17.5 mm

I’m confused as to what this crispus identification is the obverse is straight forward. The back being vot dot x and having mintmark  :Greek_Gamma: sis branch or thunderbolt isn’t simple. Neither of those mintmark options should have a dot in between vot x. According to helveticas sheets. Any help is appreciated.

The dot in-between the VOT and X is a "centering mark" - not actually part of the design or issue mark. You should ignore it.

You'll find these centering marks of quite a few coins of this time. It would have been made by the engraver while carving the die to help layout the design. If the design itself occupies the center then of course you won't see it. but otherwise more often than not you will.

Here's an example of a coin that has both the centering dot plus an off-center, and larger, dot that is part of the issue mark!

This is very cool to hear Ben, I did not know about these centering marks. Nice to learn something new and I was wondering why the dot was so small.
