Macrinus AE29 from Ephesos

This obverse is a match with Ephesos but I'm not finding reverse. Isegrim has a Zeus enthroned type but this looks more like Artemis. Regards,
Charlie

Hi folks,

I have a coin from the same city that also has an obverse countermark. I can't tell if it is the same countermark because the countermark on CH's coin isn't clear.

Here is my coin (scroll down, third coin):

Hi, dear Meepzorp
This type was published on RPC: https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coins/6/4413
Different type from Paris has a similar (?) countermark https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coin/250232

Best regards
V.

Hi VP.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, the RPC number is temporary.

Meepzorp,

Temporary numbers just mean they're available on line and the book hasn't been printed yet.  There will be permanent numbers once it's printed.  Post publication, new coins will be added to the addendum.  Every dealer/collector uses the temporary numbers, it's all we've got!

Hi TM,

Thank you for the post. I assumed some of what you wrote.

However, since the RPC number is temporary, I am afraid to write up new tags for my coin. Once the book is published, the number may change. Then, I will have to write up new tags again (a third time). That is my fear.

Does anyone know the odds of the RPC number remaining the same once the book is published? If the odds are greater than 80-90%, then I will write up new tags for my coin and edit the website entry when I get a chance. However, that may be quite a while because I am so backed up on things right now. I haven't worked on my website in a while. And it may be several more months before I can get back to working on it again.

99% of the temporary numbers will change.  They receive hundreds of submissions after the volume goes on line so they have to be reorganized to print.  Updating and printing new flips is just par for the course with provincials.
