Hello All,

This is my first post :) so pleae forgive me if i have posted in the wrong section or i have broken some rules.

I recently started to collect coins, mainly from over europe but I have always been interested in ancient coins. I admit I dont know much about them at all and I found this site was helpful.

I bought two coins from [REMVOVED BY ADMIN] from a seller who had 100% positive feedback since 2007 whose name does not appear in the fake seller list. The guy was very kind, supportive and even told me about this forum. The coins were listed as "Genuine" and guarenteed genuine forever.

I was wondering based on the pictures would you be able to tell me if they are indeed real and any interesting facts about them? if this is the wrong section or is against rules I am sorry. I am just very new to your wonderful world :)

Thank you in advanced,

kelvin

A denarius of Severus Alexander and an antoninianus of Philip I, both clearly authentic in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you very much for the welcome and your opinion, I believed the seller was being honest but I just wanted a second opinion as I am very new. This has made me feel much better about them.

They are both from the turbulent 3rd century AD; worth a look at the Wikipedia entries for both emperors.

Welcome.
Here is another good site to search for and identify your coins.

Forvm also sells coins and they are guaranteed authentic for life.

Good luck.

Welcome to the Classical Numismatic Discussion!

Nice coins, a good start.

I see you have already discovered the Notorious Fake Seller List. There is much more to explore on this website. It might take a lifetime to read all of NumisWiki. Please explore and continue to post your questions.
