Hello everyone.
The
catalogue of the coin cabinet of the Archaeological Museum of Florence is currently being published.
The most recent are the two volumes covering the coinage of the Flavii: IV.1 -
Vespasian (together with
Galba,
Otho and
Vitellius) and IV.2
Titus and
Domitian.
These are the main features:
- The coins are sorted by
denomination and then by
reverse type.
- The text is only in
Italian.
- All the coins are photographed in color, with many enlargements.
- For each coin is indicated, if available, the
catalogue number of
Cohen and R.I.C. (unfortunately it refers to the old edition).
I received my copies only today, but I have already noticed the presence of many unpublished coins.
The volumes should also be available for foreign buyers directly from the publisher (edizionidandrea) .
I attach the covers and sample plates.
