Perge o Perinthus?
« on: May 17, 2020, 01:04:17 pm »

Hello,
as you may have guessed, I am a fan of ruined coins that I delight in trying to identify, but not always in need.
This Ae 18 is by Julia Domna, for the city I would have reduced the range to Perge ΠEPΓAIΩN or to Perinthos  ΠEPINΘiΩN.
My preference goes to Perge for a spacing between the letters on the reverse, Perinthos seems to me a legend too long to be on the reverse.

Iconography of the reverse seems to me Artemis with a long spear.

I thank those who can give me opinions and maybe a classification.

Roberto

Sorry Altamura if I said nonsense, but I use a translator for English.
I wanted to say that the coin is definitely from PERME, but it cannot be classified.
Greetings Roberto
