Silica gel types.

As I learned that blue silica gel is toxic and dangerous and orange to green safe to use for coins, is orange to colourless the same, as safe as the orange to green?

Pure silica gel is clear, colorless and absolutely non-toxic.  Any colored silica gel has had coatings of various chemical applied to it.  Pure silica gel is cheap, safe for coins and humans, lasts basically forever and is readily available.  Why would anyone use anything else?

I was thinking for knowing when it is fully saturated.
