Script that is new to me
« on: March 29, 2020, 10:44:41 am »
What can you tell me about this script?  It is a new "font" to me.  Is its use significant?

Can you help with the mintmark?

Unfortunately, the obverse is worn beyond recognition.

The style/font of the letters is unusual to me.
So, I wondered if that style had a special use.

Looking more closely at the obverse, I can see the top of the emperor's pearl-diademed bust facing left.

A little more serif-y than some examples of lettering but quite nice.
