Round Avar belt mount?
« on: March 25, 2020, 03:25:10 pm »
Ave!

Copper alloy; 22mm/4.8gm

Pretty sure it's Avar c. 8th century AD; please correct me if I'm wrong.  :P

What is the animal depicted here...a wolf? LMK!

Best regards to all,

Kevin

Never seen this type listed with Avar finds but seems to match Avar style or some other similar steppe nomads.

Not sure what the animals were.  No one knows for sure.  Don't assume they were attempting at realism.
