Bronze Statue, date/period?
« on: February 29, 2020, 05:25:43 pm »
Dear Friends,

I am seeking help on this item. Would anyone be able to date this? I did not get far.

78 mm height, 116.40 g, massive bronze

Thank you in advance.

Best wishes
Burak

No idea.  It is certainly made to appear ancient, but is it?  The style is odd and doesn't match most Greek and Roman items.  The plain base, the mustache, the hair tie and the drapery are all rather odd.  Perhaps it is a provincial variant or perhaps are more modern product.  Hard to say.

It certainly is Provincial. It is from Asia Minor. Thanks for your answer!
