Another new acquisition I just couldn't resist:

IBERIA, Iliberri. Mid 2nd century BC. Æ As, 28mm, 15.1g.

Much nicer in hand, with the cleaning scratches barely visible and the "shiny" bronze much more muted.

Thanks.  It has the added benefit of repelling evil, so there's that.

Hi Nick,

Nice coin! :)

I am afraid to look at it because I fear that I may turn to stone. ::) ;D

Thanks, Juan.  I’ve wanted a triskeles with Gorgon for a long time.  It was the cartoonish features of this one that made me fall in love.  I’d never seen the type before but knew at first glance it was special.

I wonder who the figure on the obverse is?  Ares?

SNGCop 200 calls him: bearded male wearing helmet.

Interesting coin, congratulations  :).

There is an article about this coin type (in Spanish) by Margarita Orfila Pons and Pere Pau Ripollès, "La emisión con leyenda Florentia y el tesoro del Albaicín", Flor. 11., 15 (2004), pp. 367-388: https://revistaseug.ugr.es/index.php/florentia/article/viewFile/4233/4155

They seem to just call it "male head to right with round helmet".

Thanks for the article, I’ll try and read though I’m a bit rusty with Spanish!

And in case you need it there are translation programs which are not  :)  (a bit cumbersome but possible, that's my way in such situations).
