Minute Coin (Minima) from Caesarea Maritima K Λ
« on: December 26, 2019, 05:53:21 pm »
Hi, all.  Here is a tiny coin found at Caesarea.  I would say it is not worth spending too much time on, as an identification is very unlikely.  However, please let me know if it looks familiar in any way!
There is nothing similar in Hamburger's article.

Thanks, V-drome

While going through my "hopeless" box I found another minima from Caesarea that I think is very similar to the one above.  The closest regular size coin I have seen in looking at provincial coins from cities in the area is a coin of Hadrian from Tiberias, which also has a Kappa Lambda in the inscription: TΙΒΕΡ ΚΛΑΥΔ, along with a figure of Tyche.  I realize this is a stretch to make the connection but, so far, this is the best I can do!  Any other ideas are welcome.  Thanks, V-Drome
