Copper alloy; 61mm/63.3gm (silvered)

Pretty sure that it's Roman; as noted above it's rather heavy and, as seen in the photo. it's quite ornate in composition.
Two studs on the reverse with residual traces of iron attachment pins.

So, what is it?  ::)

Furniture or door decoration. 

Not sure if it is Roman though.  Never seen such a design in anything Roman.  My guess would baroque.  Roman is not impossible but I would want to see similar design documented first...
