'A new study also revealed that when Mount Vesuvius erupted the intense heat caused victims’ skulls to explode and their blood to boil.' I don't doubt it does eventually; anyone buried in a thick layer of hot volcanic ash will end up well overcooked.  Fortunately they'd have been dead long before that stage.
