What is the metal?  Lead?

The stamped lion has a medieval look to it in my opinion.

I do not know. I received this object near seven-ten years ago via coin exchange from an old collector. Maybe this thing from East Russia / Ukraine.

Pretty tough to tell.  Could have covered furniture, a door-lock mechanism (though not the key-hole part obviously), a casket, etc.
