Caracalla-City?
« on: August 16, 2019, 06:35:57 am »

This and 29 should be Caracalla, I can't understand the city.
The reverse a nike crowns the emperor who in turn raises a nike.
At 9 o'clock I read KOΛ and at 13 TV.
I thank those who will be able to give me suggestions in this regard and I greet.
Roberto

Your coin is from Tyana in Cappadocia: I recognize the obverse die and the reverse legend reads AN[T] KOΛΩ - TYAN[ΩN] / ЄT Iς, which dates it to Caracalla's 16th regnal year = 212/3. No such reverse type with Nike crowning the emperor is listed by Ganschow in his recent treatise of the Henseler Collection, meaning that it is a hitherto unpublished type.
