Sedlmayer, H. "Die römischen Fibeln von Wels." (Wels, 1995). [In German. The Roman Fibulae of Wels.] lists Mackensen as one of the 10 references she uses to identify fibula in her catalog.  Unfortunately the Bibliography is missing from the PDF available online. I know the other nine references, but not Mackensen. Help please. What is the fibula reference Mackensen?

Mackensen is probably Michael Mackensen.

https://www.vfp-archaeologie.uni-muenchen.de/personen/ir/mackensen/index.html

He has four publications with "Fibeln" (fibula in german) used in the title, but I don't know which was cited. (obviously not the two published after 1995)

-Ein Fibelgrab von Regensburg-Großprüfening. Zu den Scheibenfibeln mit bronzenen Preßblechmedaillons. Bayer. Vorgeschichtsbl. 38, 1973, 57–79.

- Eine augusteische Hülsenscharnierfibel aus der Provinz Africa Proconsularis. Germania 79, 2001, 143–150.

-  Eine limeszeitliche Scharnierarmfibel aus Resafa/Nordsyrien. Germania 61, 1983, 565–578.

and as editor:

3: M. Paul, Fibeln und Gürtelzubehör der späten römischen Kaiserzeit aus Augusta Vindelicum/Augsburg (Wiesbaden 2011)

Thanks. It must be...

Mackensen, M.  Frühkaiserzeitliche Kleinkastelle bei Nersingen und Burlafingen an der oberen Donau. MBVF 41. (München, 1987).

None of the other references listed by Sadlmayer are short articles.  But I really still do not know.
