*DDIVS* Radiate
« on: June 30, 2019, 06:19:01 am »
Hi all,

I have been pondering over this one for a few days now.

Bronze radiate, 21mm longest, 16mm shortest.

Obverse - *DDIVS*  (likely AVG after the S)

I have checked in many lights can just can't see the D being a V to make *VDIVS* for Claudius II Gothicus.  The D has a definite curve return to the top.  have checked RDIVS etc with no results.

I am thinking the reverse is Victory walking left but could be Eros or another winged god.

Any pointers most welcome.

James.

This one is CLAVDIVS (Claudius II), only the corrosion caused some unreadable letters...

The reverse is Victoria...
