Greek coin horse
« on: May 20, 2019, 03:05:48 pm »
Need help with the id on this coin from my bulk lot as Greek coins are not something I am overly familiar with yet.   I am leaning towards Macedonia

Has a face looking right on the obverse
ON the reverse, a horse prancing right, with what look like AA gamma in the top left. I don't believe it has a rider on the horse.  There is more legend around the outside.

Size is
15.0mm   3.9g

Thanks

Look like Macedonia, Kings, Philip II.,

ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ

Legend looks more like AΛE... [AΛEΞANΔPO]

Therefore probably not Philip II, but the similar issue of Alexander III

There are variations with different symbols below the horse. I can't recongnize what is below your horse.

Thanks Shanxi and Quadrans for your help.  I will try to get a better look to see if I can see what would be beneath the horse.
