A Modest Mars OTD

Although the military clad Mars is interesting on my latest addition, it's the portrait that really attracted me. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-155161

I like this type too.

It was carried over from Vitellius, just like other early sestertii types belonged to Galba.

Nice example.

What puzzles me is why was is Mars depicted in both military dress and as a heroic nude in the same issue? What are the different attributes (if any?) between the two? Would your average Roman on the street have known or cared?

I researched this and could not find the answers.
