My first impression was "
Rome", but maybe in fact "Early Eastern,
still in
style of
Rome".
I have a similar coin, which I
had classified under "
Rome".
But now, five years after acquiring that coin, I notice that it is from the same
obv. die as a
COS III Aequitas standing piece that I bought in 2017, and
had classified under "East", in accordance with my idea that all
denarii of this
Aequitas type, including those in what looks like Rome-mint
style, may actually be Eastern, perhaps struck from dies cut by Rome-mint engravers to get the Eastern series started!
If my
FORT RED piece is in fact Eastern, because of its
obv. die shared with
Aequitas, then yours could be too. Of course one would like confirmation here too, such as use of the same
obv. die for the
COS III Aequitas type, or for another
type which was not used at
Rome with this H-A PP
obv. legend.
I think your
bust type is catalogued by
Strack, *26
bust γ1, citing a spec. in BM, illustrated on Strack's pl. XIX.
