Solid Silver; 16mm/2.7gm (about the same weight of a Roman denarius)

Once again, Forum was an excellent resource for such things. Thanks Joe!

As seen in the photo, once this earring was attached, it was permanent. You can actually see that one end was slightly sharpened to aid access into the ear lobe before being clamped shut. Ground-found in the Balkans.

Or I'm just dreaming...? Confirmation, please!
