Two Seleucid Coin Image Requests
« on: February 15, 2019, 05:50:09 pm »
Seleucid Coin types, Antiochos IV

SC 1498 ~ SNG Copenhagen #206 (Seleukid volume, probably)

and

SC 1497 ~ maybe the same coin as Spaer 1187.

A nice sharp hi-res pic would be helpful of either and/or both.  Decent quality scans may be the best we can get for now.

Anyone know what happened to Spaer's collection?

Thanks,

PtolemAE

One down and one to go. SC 1498 photo arrived today. Thanks for many private replies and book image scans.  Looks like there's a good chance to get a good pic of SC 1497 soon.

Happy to report that high resolution modern digital color photos of these coins are now in hand, as well as some updated size/weight information that may shed some new light on them.

Thanks for all who followed along.
