Is this coin authentic or cast? I am contemplating that likely a cast as it looks soft and details missing. Also surface has bubbles.

This is an obvious fake. I am surprised no body can see the casting on this coin.

The sharpness of the details convinces me; I see no reason to condemn the coin as a cast, unless someone can point to an exact twin of the coin, which would of course force me to admit that it is probably cast.

James, why do you ask a question if you are so sure you know the answer ??

Dominic, I wanted to see what others say but I am convinced it is fake. the surface has so many bubbles. Also like to share fakes here for others to avoid it :)

In my eyes the "bubbles" are just light corrosion.

Curtis I posted few close up which shows extra metal and also the character around year has some recess around the legend that also is suspect.

1 and 2, I don't know, 3 looks exactly like ancient corrosion. The sharpness of the details and of the pitting looks authentic to me.

As stated, an exact twin will convince me I am wrong. I could find none such in Forvm's Fake Reports.

Ok Curtis. But how can you explain the extra metal? I know for fact that extra metal is a big concern. I know it could be as result of corroded die but that shows usually as a group of dots with special look but this is not the case for this coin.

I also believe that your coin is authentic and shows signs of natural corrosion. In addition there seems to be a flan crack possibly caused by stress during the striking process, a common occurrence on ancient coins.

It is not insulting, it is rude. It is an attempt to demand they continue to help you, when they may have no interest.

Using a second accounts to pretend to have someone supporting your position (James C2) is a banning offense. Goodbye.
