Partially Cleaned Otacilia Severa - What should I do?
« on: January 23, 2019, 03:40:04 pm »
Hello everyone,

I have recently added a nice Otacilia Severa antoninianus to my gallery. However, it may have been lightly cleaned at some point, as you can see a shinier portion of the coin just above the bust and on the reverse. What should I do? Finish cleaning it or leave it?

The coin --> https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152765

Thanks!

Have a nice day!

It will eventually tone down just fine.  Leave it as it is and let nature (and chemistry) work its magic.
