Extremely heavy denarius of Julia Maesa
« on: January 14, 2019, 08:57:35 pm »
Hello to everyone! Just got some new coins from a well known seller and one of these was this denarius of Julia Maesa witch as was stated by the seller has exceptionally heavy flan. In hand the coin is quite thick. So my quastions are could it really a denarius have a mint error and be so thick to be 4.40g and also this particular denarius looks rougher in its surface, is this cristalization? I thank all of you in advance for your answers!
