I have just bought a rare antoninianus of Tacitus, which has the unusual obverse legend: IMP C TACITVS INVICTVS AVG !
This was an eBay buy, and I won by just £0.01!

Hello everyone!

I have just added two coins - an antoninianus of Gallienus with APOLLINI CONS AVG reverse, and a somewhat unusual fouree denarius of Titus under Vespasian. This coin appears to have, instead of 'T CAES IMP VESP PON TR POT CENS', it has 'T CAES IMP VESP POИ TR POT CENS'. Thanks to Dane at Wildwinds for helping me to ID that one!

Hello everyone!

I have just added a rare Carausius to my gallery, with ADVENTVS reverse! Please note that the coin is in pretty bad shape, and I may have attributed it incorrectly. Please do tell me if I have done it wrong!

Incidentally, I think this coin might once have belonged to a forvm member, as, when I typed 'Carausius adventus horse' into Google images, my exact coin is the first example to show up (for me anyway), which is a photo taken from a previous owner's (not who I bought it from) eBay page, who has the same username as a forvm member.

This is my first 'different' variety of a Carausius (other than x,y and z standing), and, although it's condition is awful, I am very happy I bought it! Please (try to) enjoy it!

I’m wading into unfamiliar territory, but would you grade this as Fine or good Fine (F or gF)? I can see the major devices, but no legends. Curious to hear if you have an opinion: At what point do you split rate the obverse and reverse?

Sorry, I have no idea about grading! I would use the British grading system anyway, which wouldn't be helpful to you.
