This reverse type is recorded on aurei of Hadrian, but hitherto not on denarii, as far as I know.

An aureus from the same obverse die, and with the same reverse type but legend COS III P P (P P added): Calico, Roman Aurei 1246. A second specimen from the same dies: Cayon, Compendio I, p. 372, no. 11.

The style is certainly worthy of an aureus.
